A-G Associates Welcomes Matthew Miller, PhD, MPH as Senior Executive Overseeing its Military, Veteran & Family (MVF) Center of Excellence (COE) 

Distinguished Veteran and National Leader in Military and Veteran Health joins A-G Associates, bringing more than two decades of service in Veteran and Military healthcare.

Columbia, MD — September 30, 2025 — A-G Associates, a mission-driven SDVOSB and SBA 8(a) consulting firm recognized for its expertise in the areas of public health and safety, organizational development, and systems-level transformation, today announced the appointment of Matthew Miller, PhD, MPH, a decorated U.S. Air Force Veteran and nationally recognized leader in military and Veteran healthcare, to a senior leadership role overseeing the company’s Military, Veteran & Family Center of Excellence (MVF COE).

With more than two decades of service in Veteran and military healthcare, Dr. Miller brings unmatched expertise in advancing access to care, strengthening systems, and improving quality of life for service members, Veterans, and their families. Most recently, he served as the Executive Director for VA Suicide Prevention at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), where he led a national team implementing evidence-based interventions across the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). He concurrently served as Executive Director of the PREVENTS Presidential Taskforce, shaping national public health strategy and cross-agency collaboration.

Earlier in his VA career, Dr. Miller served as Director of the Veterans Crisis Line (VCL), where he transformed the program into the world’s largest and most efficient suicide crisis call center. He began his VA service as Chief of Mental Health and later Deputy Chief of Staff at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center in Michigan. Prior to that, he served as Chief of Mental Health at a Joint Services Pilot Training Wing, overseeing outpatient mental health for all active-duty service members and their families, while leading suicide prevention, family advocacy, and crisis response programs. 

A proud Veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Dr. Miller holds a PhD in Counseling Psychology from Michigan State University and an MPH in Healthcare Administration from the University of Michigan. His distinguished service and leadership have earned him multiple honors, including the U.S. Air Force Commendation Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and recognition from the American Psychological Association and Disabled American Veterans. 

Driving the Mission of the MVF COE

As Vice President, Military, Veteran and Family Center of Excellence (MVF COE) at A-G Associates, Dr. Miller will bring his collaborative leadership style and deep expertise in systems transformation to advance the work of the MVF COE deployed by A-G. The COE is A-G’s integrated impact engine, bringing together strategists, researchers, clinicians, and change management experts to strengthen networks of support, expand access to care, foster military-ready workplaces, and elevate underrepresented issues impacting military and Veteran communities.
