Tamar R Shealy, CGMP
Tamar has over 19 years’ expertise in managing meeting logistics. She currently works as a Meeting Manager with A-G and is now working on several upcoming meetings with SAMHSA. She manages Pre-event, onsite and post-event activities to include, travel arrangements for non‑Federal participants and presenters, assists with production of meeting materials, and onsite support, appropriate room setup, audiovisual equipment, assist with developing and managing budgets as they relate to travel, audiovisual, lodging, food, and beverages.
Tamar’s has managed large and small grantee meetings to include: The National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI)-Community Health Worker Health Disparities Initiative, MCH Research Program, National Viral Hepatitis Roundtable (NVHR), quarterly meetings for the Advisory Committee on Heritable Disorders and Genetic Diseases in Newborns and Children (ACHDGDNC). She also worked on the first Title X meeting, the quarterly meetings for the Consolidated Patient Account Center (CPAC), grantees meetings for the Maternal and Child Health Bureau, the Recovery Community Services Program (RCSP), SAMHSA’s Access to Recovery (ATR) yearly Grantee Meetings as well as 48 training session for the ATR’s Faith and Community Based Sustainability Trainings. In previous positions, Tamar was also a Catering Manager and coordinated Government meetings as well as formal catering events for a large D.C. area hotel.
Tamar volunteers in St. Mary’s County Wrapping Arm Round Many (W.A.R.M), this is a sheltering program provided by the faith-based community in St. Mary’s County. The program provides a warm, dry and safe place for the men, women and children to sleep during the cold winter months. Tamar also occasionally cooks meals for the “Mission” homeless program in St May’s county, she enjoys baking, cooking and traveling abroad.
Tamar is a member of the Society of Government Meeting Planner (SGMP). Tamar has an associate degree in culinary arts from Stratford University, Woodbridge, VA.
