Kristin Jensen Miller, MSW
Kristin Miller is a skilled behavioral health project manager, evaluator, technical writer, and trainer. Since 2005, Kristin has worked with state, federal, and non-profit partners to build, navigate, and improve health and human services across the country.
Kristin leads data-driven implementation and quality improvement for Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services (SAMHSA) grantees in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Massachusetts. In this role, she works closely with state agencies and local service providers to win, implement, and evaluate Federal grants; build capacity for and integrate evidence-based practices within existing systems; and use data to tell stories to funders and stakeholders to facilitate sustainability.
Prior to this work, Kristin led a team of implementation science experts, behavioral health consumers, and service providers to develop a novel review system for the dissemination capability of evidence-based practices for SAMSHA’s National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices (NREPP). For over eight years, she worked with hundreds of EBP developers and researchers, providing training and technical assistance on the development of implementation, training, fidelity monitoring, and outcome assessment tools for dissemination to organizations and providers across the country. As NREPP review manager, she recruited and trained a team of experts who reviewed more than 250 EBPs for mental health and substance use treatment and prevention. She represented SAMHSA and NREPP at dozens of conferences for tribal, national, and international behavioral health stakeholders.
Kristin received her Master of Social Work in Clinical Practice and her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from George Mason University. Outside of work, she volunteers her time with nonprofits in her hometown of Richmond, VA, like ReEstablish Richmond, which supports international refuges, and Art on Wheels, which supports fundraising and event planning for their community art and engagement projects.
