Stakeholder engagement

We design stakeholder ecosystems that turn alignment into action and collaboration into measurable results.

Stakeholder engagement at A-G is a full-spectrum capability—not a calendar of events. We build the systems, relationships, and materials that enable diverse partners to move in the same direction: federal agencies working with community organizations, national coalitions coordinating across state lines, grantees aligning with funder expectations, and cross-sector partners discovering where their missions converge.

Our engagement work integrates technical assistance, convening design, coalition architecture, strategic communications, and the creative production of reports, toolkits, publications, and implementation resources. Every engagement is structured to generate insight, produce tangible outputs, and translate collaboration into coordinated, scalable impact.

What This Looks Like in Practice

Our stakeholder engagement capability spans five integrated disciplines.

Technical Assistance

We provide structured, sustained technical assistance to federal grantees, state agencies, community organizations, and cross-sector coalitions—helping them implement evidence-based practices, strengthen internal systems, and meet programmatic goals. Our TA model is collaborative and capacity-building by design: we work alongside teams rather than prescribing solutions from a distance.

Stakeholder Convening

From national conferences and multi-day working sessions to regional roundtables and virtual events, we bring end-to-end convening capability: stakeholder analysis and engagement strategy, agenda architecture and session design, speaker identification and preparation, facilitation and real-time synthesis, and post-event documentation, reporting, and action-item tracking.

Coalition Building

Our coalition-building work includes stakeholder ecosystem mapping and partner identification, governance design with clear roles, decision rights, and accountability mechanisms, shared measurement frameworks and collective impact models, and facilitation of ongoing coordination across diverse partner organizations.

Communications & Promotion

We develop integrated communications strategies that support engagement objectives across channels: thought leadership content, campaign messaging, digital and social media strategy, email and newsletter programs, conference and event promotion, and public awareness campaigns. Our communications work is grounded in audience analysis and message architecture—not templates.

Creative Services & Materials Development

The tangible outputs of engagement matter as much as the conversations that produce them. A-G’s creative services team develops high-impact materials that give stakeholders the tools they need to act on what they’ve learned—and to carry that knowledge back to their own organizations and communities.

Our materials development capabilities include reports, white papers, and policy briefs; toolkits, implementation guides, and resource compendiums; infographics, data visualizations, and one-pagers; presentation decks and facilitation materials; branded conference materials and event collateral; and digital content for web, social media, and email distribution.

Advancing National Crisis Response Through Stakeholder Engagement

Powering the 988 Crisis Helpline National Conference

As part of its broader strategic support to SAMHSA’s Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS) and the 988 Crisis Helpline initiative, A-G Associates led the planning and execution of the landmark 988 Lifeline Conference—the largest SAMHSA-sponsored event in agency history. This multi-day national convening brought together more than 1,200 leaders from across government, healthcare, and community organizations to align on the future of crisis response in the United States.

From end-to-end logistics and communications to agenda development and on-site execution, A-G ensured a seamless, high-impact experience for all participants. The conference created a critical forum for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and strategic alignment—advancing implementation of the 988 Lifeline and strengthening the broader Crisis Continuum of Care.

By convening diverse stakeholders at scale, A-G helped accelerate momentum behind one of the nation’s most important mental health initiatives, fostering the partnerships and shared understanding needed to expand access to life-saving crisis services nationwide.

Engagement Amplifies Every Capability.

Stakeholder engagement is the connective tissue of A-G’s integrated model. Strategic plans succeed when the stakeholders who must execute them helped shape them. Evaluations produce better findings when they’re designed with input from the people closest to the work. Coalitions sustain when they have the communications infrastructure and materials to keep partners informed and accountable.

At A-G, engagement is never an add-on—it’s the mechanism that makes every other capability land.
